3-D graph

For my 3D graph our group equation was x+y+z=3. For me the equation was x+-y+z so i had to make a model for the points (3,0,0), (0,-3,0), and (0,0,3). My model was only part of the whole model. When we put it all together it shows all the sides.

Ch 3.4 Linear Programming

For this project, I had to make my own linear programming problem and graph it. My problem was Fred wants to buy square tiles for an auditorium that will cover 300 square feet. He will use two different colors: blue and white square tiles. Each blue will cover 2 square feet. Each white will cover 4 square feet. Each square costs $10 and Fred must spend less than $700. Write the constraints and graph the feasible region. My constraints were B is greater than or equal to 0, W is greater than or equal to 0, 2B+4W is less than or equal to 300, and 10B+10W is less than or equal to 700. I graphed each graph individually and the graph shaded in brown is the feasible region.

Ch 2 project

For this project i picked the car Mercedes Guard S600. First i found out what the mileage was while the speed was 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, and 80. I then graphed the points and since the line was going down the graph was a negative correlation. Then i drew the line of best fit. Then i used two points to find the slope and my slope was -3.9/20. Then i used the point slope form to write my equation y=-3.9/20x+-6.275. I used the graphing calculator to find the correlation coefficient which was r=-.9921. I think the value of r tells the faster you drive the mileage will go down. The equation for best fit is y=-.204x+28.52. I predict that the mileage for a speed of 55 mph is 17 mpg. I also predict that the speed if the mileage is 28 mpg will be about 30mph.

Ch 1Graphing Functions

By Ellie Cosine
My original function was y=√x which is in black. My reflection which was in purple is y=-√x it is the same but it's just negative. My vertical translation (red) is y=√x+12 for this one i just added 12. My horizontal and vertical translation (green) is y=√(x+4)+10 for i just graphed it on the points (10,4). My horizontal translation (blue) is y=√x+14 for this i just graphed (14,0). My reflection, horizontal, and vertical translation is y=-√(x-4)+10 for this i just graphed (-4,10). These are all of my transformations.

Ch 1 Real World Functions

By Ellie Cosine (team cosine)

For our real world function we did Disney movies and when they were made. The domain are the movies and the range are when the movies are made. For this to be a function only one year can match with one movie. If there were two movies for one year then it would fail as a function. Our independent variable are the movies and our dependent variable are when they were made. Our graph will not be a function when you add put a random year to one of the movies. For example, putting a random year to Toy Story 3 will make it a relation.
