Ch 1 Real World Functions

(Team AAT)
For our real world function, my partner Kent & I chose to do movies that are played in theaters. On the independent variable are the movies that was played in theaters. On the dependent variable are the number of theaters that the movies were played in. The domains are, {Despicable Me, Alice In Wonderland, Inception, Toy Story 3, Iron Man 2, Eclipse} & the ranges are, {3,602 , 3,739 , 3,792 , 4,026 , 4,390 , 4,468}. A function is when there is exactly one Y (output) for every X (input) whereas a relation is when there is more than one Y for one X. Our function fails when 100 more theaters were built and specifically played Eclipse, which created two Y's for one X. So this made it a relation.
