High Cost on Remedial College Classes

Although you have a high school diploma, you might not be ready for college. According to the newspaper article by Justin Pope, many new college students who are just arriving, are having a tough time in their classes. They seem to be unprepared for the material they are faced. It turns out that they've learned inadequate material previously in high school. They may have the grades to be promoted, but apparently they aren't quite prepared. Research shows that one-third of these college students must take remedial college classes to learn the sufficient material. These classes cost colleges and taxpayers between $2.3 billion and $2.9 billion every year.
