For our real world function we chose skittles. The independent variables are the colors of the skittles and the dependent variables are the flavors of the skittles. The domain is {red, orange, yellow, green, purple} and the range is {strawberry, orange, lemon, lime, grape}. Our function is a linear parent function because each color skittle only has one flavor. But, in our relation the candy factory makes a slight mistake and made a red skittle grape flavor. This definitely not a function because when I did the vertical line test it passed through two points.
