CH6 Curve Fitting With Polynomial Models

For this project, the first step I had to do was going to Yahoo Financial to find the opening values for my stock--APPL and the index-- NASDAQ for the years of 1994, 1995,1996,1997, 2000,2001,2002,2003, and 2004. Then I entered the data into STAT on my graghing calculator and found the function which is the best fit for my datas by checking out the coerelation coefficient. Then I used the functions to predicte the opening values for APPL and NASDAQ of years of 2002, 2005, 2008, 2010, and 2011. Next, I went back to Yahoo Financial again and searched the actual opening values for APPL and NASDAQ of 2002, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2011. However, I found that the my predictions didn't match to the actual values. Lastly, I went to do the research on Google and tried to find some news and events to explain why my predictions were incorrect.
