CA "Cyber-Bully" Law

One law that takes effect on 1/1/2011 is CA Senate Bill 1411, introduced by CA State Senator Joe Simitian. The law focus on impersonating another person by internet (using email, online forums and social media). False twitter messages or falsely creating Facebook pages under another person's name to harass and embarrass other people would now be consider breaking the new law. The penalties includes a fine up to $1000 and/or up to 1 year in jail.
